We Couldn't All Be Cowboy's

If you can't tell from the pictures I had a really fun weekend at our family reunion in Hanksville Utah. I was feeling really overwhelmed with the thought of driving all the way down there and back in just a couple days but it turns out it was totally worth it. I got to see alot of family that I hadn't seen in a long time and we did all the usual Mecham family things. We went fourwheeling up the Henry Mountains, played in the water, played slip-n-slide water baseball, and of course ate alot of food! The weather was well over 100 degrees at our camp site but when we went on our fourwheeling trip I actually needed my jacket and we ran into a couple patches of thick snow! Dustin took advantage of the snow, climbed to the top of it, and attempted to ski down. He didn't fall so I guess his attempt was successful.
Dustin and I got to spend alot of time together on this trip which was so nice! We had lots of great talks and listened to some quality music on the way home from Hanksville. Turns out we aren't as different as I thought. I loved every minute spending time with the family and can't wait to see them again. Hopefully it wont be too long.
We did lots of fun things on the trip but I think one of my highlights was watching Charlie play with grandma Joy. Grandma wears this necklace around her neck that she tells the little kids is magic. She had Charlie ask it questions and she would answer in a low creepy voice. Charlie caught on to the idea and decided he wanted Grandma to start asking the questions and he would answer in his low creepy voice. It went something like this...
Charlie: "Ask it a question Grandma"
Grandma: "Where is my uncle Thomas?"
Charlie (in a low creepy voice he picked up from grandma): "In the basement...... going potty.... on a train".
They would laugh and then she would ask another question and Charlie would answer.
Grandma: "Where is my brother"
Charlie: "In the fruit room.....behind the axe"
I was laughing so hard by the end of the game that my stomach was hurting. I know grandma and Charlie had a great time too.
Anyways, it was a great weekend and I will be posting another blog very soon all about my voice lessons and training before I try out for American Idol on July 29th! Wish me luck!
